Feb. 24, 2026 -- Lackawanna County 4-H and Penn State Extension Master Gardeners are holding their annual strawberry plant sale. Plants come in bundles of 25 of a single variety. The cost is $17 per bundle, and payments can be made by cash or check. Orders are on a first-come, first-served basis.

The following varieties will be available:

Seascape will produce a high yield starting a few months after planting, no matter the season, producing large, firm berries with outstanding flavor. A great container choice, these berries are some of the most disease resistant varieties available.
Allstar will produce large, light-colored, sweet berries that are glossy and firm.
Brunswick is an early mid-season variety that ripens at the same time as Honeoye. This variety is preferred in northern areas.

Plants will be available for pick up Thursday, May 14, from 6 to 8 p.m. at The Greenhouse Project, Nay Aug Park, 200 Arthur Ave., Scranton or by appointment at the Penn State Extension Office by calling 570-963-6842.
