About Lackawanna Connect
Lackawanna Connect is an independent civic information and property-data platform for Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania. It is operated by Just Right Place, LLC, a technology studio based in Scranton. The site gives residents, municipal staff, property owners, researchers, journalists, nonprofits, and local businesses a practical starting point for understanding the county.
The platform brings together public information as published by Lackawanna County offices, the County's forty municipalities, and Commonwealth agencies. Its tools cover parcel and assessment data, GIS boundaries, property sales, municipal contacts, zoning, flood information, property taxes, reassessment and appeals, sheriff sales, Land Bank properties, elections, events, surveys, and local news.
How Lackawanna Connect works with public offices
- Complement, not replace: a research and reference layer on records the County and municipalities already publish. It does not replace the Tax Assessor's assessment system, the Recorder of Deeds' land-records system, or any office's official process.
- Point back to the source: parcel pages and guides link to official County and municipal lookup tools.
- Public records stay public: Lackawanna Connect does not sell or license County property records, or datasets derived from them, to data brokers, title companies, lenders, or other third parties, and does not put public records behind a paywall.
- Support for municipalities: municipal staff can contact the Data Desk for help using the tools or correcting municipal information.
Lackawanna Connect is not affiliated with a government agency and is not the official system of record. Official County and municipal records remain the legally recognized source of truth. Public records can be delayed, incomplete, or incorrect. Important legal, financial, ownership, boundary, tax, election, and filing information should be confirmed with the responsible County or municipal office.
