July 1, 2026 -- Road closures, new traffic patterns and available parking have been announced for events happening this weekend on Lackawanna County Courthouse Square. The Scrantastic Spectacular fireworks display featuring the NEPA Philharmonic is set for Friday, July 3, and the FIFA Fan Zone Watch parties are set for Saturday, July 4, and Sunday, July 5.

Road closures/patterns

On Thursday, July 2, starting at 6 a.m.:

The 200 block of North Washington Avenue between Linden and Biden streets will be closed.

Beginning Friday, July 3:

The 100 block of North Washington Avenue (from Mulberry Street to Lackawanna Avenue) will be closed.
Most of Biden Street will be closed.
Portions of Linden Street will be closed except for the area by the Diocese of Scranton Chancery Building, 300 Wyoming Ave., to enter the parking garage.
One lane of Adams Avenue will remain open.

Parking garages

Parking garages will remain open with a $6 all day rate for the festivities.

Casey Garage, 101 Adams Ave.
Connell Garage, 117 N. Washington Ave.
Linden Street Garage, 417 Linden St.

The University of Scranton and Lackawanna College are offering free parking on during Saturday and Sunday's Fan Zone events. No shuttle services will be provided. The Marketplace at Steamtown Garage, 300 Lackawanna Ave., also will be open during normal business hours.
